Help: Features: Leader Boards

Want to put your high score up for all to see? Here's the latest on our new Leader Boards!
Leaders
The Leaders link takes you to the leaders index page, with a link to each of the active leader boards. Click on the link to see the top scores for the last 7 days. Only the 100 highest scores are posted on the board, and the boards are swept each night to remove scores posted over a week ago. Everyone can see the leader boards, but only members who are logged in can post their scores.
Posting your score to the leader board
Each game which has a leaderboard takes you to a "Results" page at the end of the game. If you're logged in, you'll have the opportunity to post your scores to the leaderboard.
Only your highest score of the day will be posted to each game's board. If you've just started playing, your first game will always give you the opportunity to post. If you've already posted a score for today and now have a higher score, you'll have the opportunity to move up the board by updating your day's record with your new score.
A cookie saves your most recent high score, and keeps it until about 30 minutes after you stop playing the game. If your score for a game is less than your recent high, you won't get the button to post to the leaderboard. If you come back and start playing after the cookie disappears, you will be offered the leaderboard again, but it will check your score for the day before it posts it, so it won't replace a high score with a lower one.
Your All-Time High Score
The Results page automatically saves your all-time high score in your member records. When you start the game, it checks your record, retrieves your all-time high score, and puts it in your cookie for comparison. That way, it can tell you if you have an all-time high, and can update your record with the new score.
Leaderboards and Privacy
When you post to a leaderboard, it will display your Member ID next to your score. If you do not want to have your Member ID listed, simply do not post your score to the board. In a future update, we will be adding a Preferences setting so that you can turn off the option to post to leaderboards, if you do not wish to ever post to them.
Leaderboards by Game
Each of our games requires some refitting to add the leaderboards, so more boards will be added over the next few weeks. You'll always be able to see which games use leaderboards, simply by selecting the Leaders button on the sidebar.
Future Features
We are working on ways for you to display your all-time high scores (to you), but this feature is not yet finished. We also plan to have an all-time high scores board for each game, but since we will do that from the Member Records, that waits until we have added the ability for you to set a preference not to display them, so that the privacy of members who don't want them posted will be protected.
Javascript Bug Note
Normally, the date for your post is taken from the local timestamp in your WebTV or PC. But just in case the Javascript bug bites on that page and doesn't stamp the time, the server will stamp its time. The server is on Eastern time, so if you're on the West Coast, it's 10:00PM, and you see the date stamped as tomorrow on the leaderboards, you know what happened. (You should also restart your WebTV if that happens, because your box is out of memory.)
