Questions About Gift Certificates? I'll Try to Answer
Q. What are gift certificates?
Gift certificates are coupons for Games4TV membership periods. They can be used any time, by either a current member, or a new member, to pay for a membership period. We have both 3-month ($15) and annual ($50) gift certificates.
Q. How are the gift certificates delivered?
The certificate is sent in email to the recipient that you designate when you order it. You can select a date for its delivery, or leave the date blank and it will be sent immediately. If you'd rather choose the recipient later, or send it in your own gift card, then leave the recipient blank and the certificate will be sent to you. You can then copy and paste the coupon code into your own email or gift card
Q. How is the gift certificate redeemed?
There is a special link included in the certificate email that will let new members sign up with the certificate, or let existing members apply it to their membership.
Q. How do I pay for the certificates?
You can pay for them by credit card, PayPal, or mail. Paying by credit card or PayPal makes them available immediately, while if you pay by mail, they'll be available when your payment arrives. If you order multiple certificates and pay by mail, but decide you don't want to pay for and send all of them, be sure to write the payment numbers of the ones you're activating on your payment.
Q. Why do you ask me to select a member name and password when I'm ordering it for someone else?
This creates a special membership for the purchase of the gift certificates. Once it's set up, you'll also be able to log in any time to send another gift certificate or, if you like, to add your own games subscription and play. It's the way our membership system works, which is only able to process gift certificates for members. At any time, you'll be able to log in and see your payment records for your certificates, too. All of your information is covered by our Privacy Policy.
It also lets us contact you if the gift certificate can't be delivered to your recipient (for example, if their email address is wrong, or their mailbox is full).
Q. Do the Gift Certificates expire?
They do not -- they can be used any time after they are purchased, and each is good until it is used. Note that our membership system will show them having a start and end period in your payment records, but they actually don't -- it's a display anomaly in our membership system that we'll get fixed when we can.
Q. What if I give a Gift Certificate to a friend, and they don't want to use it? Can I give it to someone else? Or could they give it to someone else?
Yes, as long as it hasn't been used to pay for a membership period, it can be sent to someone else.
